Form & Function

This project is an exploration of simplicity combined with functionality. The motivation is to create a door pull that will satisfy the minimal functional requirements while creating a form that compliments the organic flow of the wood grain pattern and the graceful gestures of the human hand. The profile is derived by studying the natural gestures of the human hand and understanding the ergonomics of the hand while operating a door pull. The result is a door pull which allows the natural wood grain to be expressed and a certain comfort to the touch, without being interrupted by the addition of foreign elements or materials.
